Alpine Meadows Stables has been welcoming riders into Tahoe's backcountry since 1967. What started as one family's love of horses and these mountains has grown into three generations of the Courtney family sharing that same trail with visitors from all over.

 

Not much has changed since those early years. We're still a small, family-run outfit: same office, same handshake reservations, same commitment to matching every rider with the right horse and the right ride. Whether it's your first time in a saddle or your tenth summer back with us, you'll be riding through the same pine forests, meadows, and creek crossings that our family has guided people through for over half a century.

 

We're proud of that history, and we think it shows in the horses we raise, the guides we train, and the way this place still feels like it belongs to everyone who visits, not just to us.
